At Amatir, the focus is on the child, her unique needs, her unique interest and talent. Amatir does not believe in uniformity. Special focus is on developing the child on the lines of her interest and at a pace that is most suited for her. Education philosophy at Amatir is not to ‘teach’ a subject and not to be a taskmaster but to offer to the student, to be a guide and to suggest and not to impose. It only means to put a child in an environment where she begins to learn and ask questions by herself rather than from outside. We discourage forced learning. Amatir focusses on the child being self-aware and other-aware which is an ability to be aware of one's own inner personality, of one's own conditioning, what moves them, what conditions and influences them, of one's entire being – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Such aware individual end up becoming aware of the others - other people and the world in which they live.
The school follows CBSE curriculum from Nursery to 10+2 classes. It offers Medical, Non-medical, Commerce and Arts stream for XI and XII classes. It gives excellent academic result under the guidance of highly experienced and qualified teachers. The main objective of our school is to provide stress free, child centred and holistic education to all the girls without compromising on quality. We adapt and innovate methods to achieve academic excellence with psychological, pedagogical and social principles. Special coaching is given to the students for appearing competitive exams at the same time remedial classes are taken for the weak students providing personal attention. In primary and middle school, activity oriented teaching is prevalent so that the students will get involved in the teaching learning process. Projects, assignments, workshops are given frequently to the students along with regular classroom teaching. Regular workshops and capacity building programmes are conducted in school to update the professional competency of teachers.
Co-curricular activities are an integral part of our school curriculum. As per the CBSE norms, every week CCA is conducted and the winners are acknowledged. Various literary programmes such as Elocution, Poem recitation, Essay writing, skit, Debate, Group discussion, Calligraphy, News reading, Poster making and aesthetic programmes like Drawing, Painting, Quilling, Cooking, Best out of waste, Mono action, Mime, Singing, Dancing etc are organised every week. The students participate in the competitions enthusiastically and exhibit their innate talent.
Amatir is known for encouraging the students in sports and games. The motto of education is not confining the children to the four walls of classroom and books but give them platform for all round development. Sports and games are indispensable for physical, mental and psychological growth of the children. Amatir is the home of various sports nurseries such as Athletics, Volley Ball, Football, Tennis, Taekwondo, Judo, Boxing, Gymnastics and Yoga. Well –experienced coaches are providing them coaching to excel in games. Many students have brought laurels to our school in Hand ball, Volley ball, Athletics, Taekwondo etc. So far our students have bagged 41 Gold, 45 Silver and 37 Bronze medals in games nationwide. Some of them are playing in the national level. Two Amatirians have brought laurel to our school by achieving silver and bronze medals in National Level Chai-kwon-do and Handball in session 2018-19.
