The dawn of the Millennium (1999 – 2000) ushered in the introduction of service movements Guides / Scouts / Bulbuls / Cubs / Bunnys – the inauguration of MVM Bala Bhavan, Botanical Garden – The Alumni Association was formed and the Activity hour was allotted to hone the creative instincts of the students through Fine Arts and Sports – NCC Junior Division remained a new venture. The teaching faculty was trained to use Computer as a tool in class room teaching. In the year 2001-2002 the ITEC Course under the auspices of Anna University made its headway. A Newtonian telescope was installed in the campus to know about the Planetary System. Inter School Maths Science Meet held regular assembly programmes. Pronouncing game in English, Checking Sessions, Lunch hour talk along with Yogasanas, Transcendental Meditation, Gita Chanting became mandatory. Student’s and Teacher’s participation increased in the Inter School Contests. The First ever Chess Championship was conducted in the premises during the 2001-2002 with 201 participants from across the country.n the year 2002-2003, the student strength increased to 2964 and teaching faculty to 91. Well equipped Science Laboratories, sophisticated Computer Lab with Multimedia Projector, Lan, Internet and the new editions of books on wide range of topics in Library remained a new add on. National Green Corps and Junior Red Cross Clubs came into being.The new introductions during the year 2003-2004 were the upgraded infrastructural facilities including elevator, Canteen and Aqua Guard Purifier.In the Bidecennial year, Karuna Club came into existence with regular Guest Lectures and Personality Development courses conducted at regular intervals.Eurekha Saturdays” – a Programme for the students of Stds. I to VIII to hone the creativity amongst the children in Fine Arts and Sports and the National Service Scheme made a modest beginning. Ez-Vidya Session on teacher empowerment programme with activity Oriented Techniques and Alma Mater to inculcate and to develop the qualities of head and heart was taken up as the new step. Regular multi media education is being promoted to keep pace with times. Department of Environment launched a new innovative programme school on Airway through Ham Net Work. Fire Safety measures have been taken up to meet the crisis in times of emergency. The Activity hour is widening the intellect with training by professional experts. The different divisions include Violin, Veena, Calligraphy, Vocal Music, Band, Art, Tabla, Mridangam, Flute, Bharatanatyam, Craft, Western Dance, Key board related to Fine arts. Karate, Chess and Roller Skating in the area of Sports. Consumer Club was introduced to equip the students socially."
