Kalakshetra, as the name suggests, is a centre for artistic endeavour. Founded in 1936 by the vibrant visionary Rukmini Devi Arundale, the Institution stands testimony to her dream of creating a space where the essence of Indian thought would find expression through artistic education. Admission Process

The selection process is geared towards creating a diverse group of students from all walks of life in each class. For all other classes, admission is granted on the basis of the performance of the child in an entrance exam administered in the second or third week of April. The examination covers English, a second language and mathematic skills in the level of the class preceding the one to which admission is sought. Admission is granted to qualified students based on the availability of seats in the school.
