G.L.Salwan had conceptualized partnership in education by introducing the theory of sharing of facilities between Public Schools and the schools for the underprivileged. This beautiful partnership still exists. The schools in Rajinder Nagar are an example of how sharing can help in providing quality education to all, irrespective of class, caste, creed and religion.Late Pt. G.L.Salwan knew that running such institutions was not an easy affair. Being a man of wisdom and pragmatism, he ensured that the Trustees and members of Managing Committees of these schools consisted of eminent people from different walks of life – people, who were willing to sacrifice their time selflessly for the noble cause of education.All the Trustees and members of the Managing Committees comprise of eminent judges, senior administrators, financial experts, educationists and industrialists.Many distinguished and eminent personalities have been associated with the Salwan Education Trust - Shri. Dharam Vira, Retd. ICS officer & Former Lt. Governor of Delhi, Shri. T.R.Tuli, Former Chairman Punjab National Bank, Prof. G.S.Randhawa, Former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Shri. Justice Hardayal Hardy, Justice Prithviraj, Shri. S.D.Verma, Justice H.L.Anand, Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal, Lt. General. H. S. Seth, Dr. A.S.Panital, have been the Hon'ble Trustees in the past.We stand for Excellence in Education in order that the students become not only well-rounded and balanced personalities, but also good human beings. Our school has adopted the play-way and activity oriented approach to teaching and learning. We believe that ‘Every child matters as Every child is Special’ and that teachers are guides and facilitators and learn as much from students and vice-versa. We have a spacious building on two acres of land and about eight acres of green playing field. Besides academics, the students are also trained in Athletics, Gymnastics, Roller-Skating, Taekwondo, Art & Craft, Music, Dance, Theatre and Pottery on daily basis. Summer Camps and Adventure Camps are organized during the vacations wherein the students are coached in all extracurricular activities. Disaster Management drills, educational trips to museums, planetariums, zoos etc. are a regular feature. Hands-on learning is encouraged. Leadership training is undertaken for both primary as well as secondary classes. To make school a not-to-miss experience on any single day, various Inter- Class and Inter-House Competitions, are slotted involving challenging activities fostering critical and creative thinking skills.
