Welham Boys' School is a residential school for boys, in Dehra Dun, affiliated to the C.B.S.E., India. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas over an area of 30 acres, the school lies amidst the hills and rivers of the Doon valley. One of the oldest and all-boys boarding, Welham Boys&rsquo: School started life as Welham Preparatory School way back in 1937.
When Ms. Oliphant came to India in 1920, from Delhi, she moved to Dehradun, a quiet town nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. It was here that she decided to start a preparatory school as the town had a pleasant climate and idyllic surroundings.
Being a believer in the overall growth of its students, the Welham Boys School ensures proper training &: encouragement for students interested in sports. Various fields and courts have been established to keep the spirit of sports burning.
For all major events, ceremonies, plays and dramas, quizzes etc. there is a huge multipurpose hall, known as the Activity Center. The center includes a shooting range, a tuck shop &: a gym.
The students are offered nutritionally balanced meals from a variety of cuisines from a modern &: well equipped kitchen. The Bethany dining hall is the common area where the boarding school takes its meals. Cleanliness &: hygiene are top priority for the staff at the Welham Boys School.
The boarding school Infirmary is well equipped with all the essential medical facilities and equipment along with a minor operation theatre. This ensures that students suffering from illnesses and injuries are well cared for while they are away from their homes.
