Are you looking for suggestions to make your students complete their assigned work? If yes, then you are not alone.

Teachers often get stuck when it comes to getting desired results from their students. The situation becomes more severe for teachers if the class has more than 20 students. Paying full attention to every student and keeping a check on details is something challenging for teachers.

It certainly seems easier to help struggling students than many individuals. However, the reality is the opposite, as you need to try various strategies to give your students the tools to complete the assigned task. It becomes tough for a teacher to focus on a particular struggling student in the classroom when ten more students face problems completing their given work.

But, no need to fret, as we will share a few suggestions that will indeed support teachers to get their students to complete their work efficiently. So, keep reading this blog post to learn how to encourage your students to perform their given tasks properly.

●    Give Them the Choice to Pick Topics

One of the biggest reasons that often makes students unwilling to complete their work is boredom. If the assignment of the topic given to them is uninteresting or highly complicated for them, they may feel they need more time to complete it. However, this problem can easily be countered by involving students in the topic-assigning process. It is advised to assign your students the assignments according to their capabilities and interest.

This practice will surely help you get the best output from your students.

●    Help Them Create Their Own Standards for Quality

Defining your students and the standards for quality academic work is the sole responsibility of the teachers. They often have an idea of how to dress, speak to one another, and interact socially adequately. But, there is a strong possibility that they aren’t well aware of the standards to follow while completing academic work. To get the best academic performance from them, you need to guide the proper way to complete any given task and what strategies are helpful for them for quality academic work. You can also encourage them to create their own standards for academic standards. This will allow them to give their best and meet their set standards.

●    Revisit ‘Old’ Work

Performing academic tasks from scratch indeed requires extensive research and effort from students. Teachers must enlighten their students on the practices to repurpose their previous work. The strategy will reduce their efforts and enable them to give better-quality results. Teachers can also guide them about the useful tools that can help them reuse their previously published work.

For example, a paragraph rewriter can help students quickly restructure their previously submitted content. This will reduce the efforts they may have to make for rewriting a similar article again and give them the best quality, fresh, and unique content.

●    Incorporate Technology

Students love using advanced tools and gadgets. You can use it as a strategy and incorporate technology to make them complete their academic assignments quickly. Many advanced tools are available on the web to help students complete their given tasks. For instance, a paragraph rewriter will enable students to get a better version of a text instantly. This will help them enhance the quality of their written work or learn how to write perfectly.

Similarly, using a grammar checker will enable them to find spelling or grammar mistakes in the written text. Adding technology to your lesson plans or academic strategy will help you get the maximum engagement from your readers.

●    Give Them Personalized Feedback

Personalized feedback refers to appropriate and timely feedback in the perfect format and tone for students. Sharing well-timed, thoughtful feedback when they give a test, submit their project, or follow a unique approach to perform a given task will encourage them to do their best work. Similarly, giving feedback to students individually based on their performance will enable you to address their deficiencies and guide them more effectively.

●    Clarify and Emphasize the Purpose

Many students often have questions about the purpose of reading any particular subject or topic. Mostly, they have questions relevant to the topics or subjects they find unnecessary or irrelevant. For example, you may have students in your classroom who don’t know exactly why they have to learn about trigonometry. It is, again, the duty of teachers to clarify the purpose of any subject or topic appropriately. If you succeed in explaining the reason for learning about that subject, you will definitely observe improvement in your student’s performance.

●    Divide Tasks in Small Portions

Just imagine if you are asked to write a fresh, unique, and catchy article of 5000 words about any technical topic; what will be your first reaction? There is a strong possibility that you will take it as a burden and start looking for some shortcuts to complete the work.

The same goes for students; when they are given lengthy and complex academic tasks, they will consider it an undesired burden and try to get rid of it as soon as possible. But, you can make the task interesting for them by dividing it into small portions.

Moreover, announcing a reward for completing the task at a given time is another useful approach that will motivate your students to complete their work efficiently.

Final Words

Teachers must play smart to motivate their students and encourage them to complete their work. The suggestions shared in this blog post will help you make your students focus on their given task and try their best to complete it in the given time. Look for valuable tools and facilities that can help you engage your students and derive them perform their academic assignments effectively.
